General Info
Zanzibar is situated in a malaria area and anyone visiting the island should take malaria prophylaxis to avoid being bitten and apply insect repellent at night.
Stores in Zanzibar mostly do not accept credit cards, although there are four ATM’s on the island, it will be wise to take extra cash or traveler’s cheques with you.
Weather
Zanzibar is situated near the equator. The island has a tropical climate and is warm all year round. November is the rainy month when short rains occur, but usually don’t last very long.
