The City
Warsaw is the capital city of Poland and also the largest city. It is located on the Vistula River and about 260 km’s from the Baltic Sea and 300 km’s from the Carpathian Mountains. Known as the “phoenix city” it has survived many wars throughout it bloody history. Warsaw is also an Alpha-global city as it is a major international tourist destination and an important economic hub in Central and Eastern Europe.

General Information
Many tourists will be happy that fast food restaurants are wildly available from McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut and Burger King restaurants. Many clubs can be found in Warsaw and are very popular to spend every night out.
The city is generally safe and police can be found everywhere. Exercise extra caution when visiting areas you are not familiar with. Be careful for pickpockets and keep an eye on your belongings when moving in large crowd or even buses. Football hooligans can be a problem after a large football event. In case you need emergency assistance the international “112” number can be used.
Weather
Summer can be a bit warm and tourists should pack light summer clothes and a warm jacket to wear at night. The winters are very cold and temperatures can drop to -6˚C
