What to see / do

The Ragunan Zoo is home to about 4000 animals, including Komodo dragons.

The park represents Indonesia’s 27 provinces and their unique characteristics with the exact regional architecture of the provinces.

Beautiful scenes of rice paddies and splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud and its surrounding villages.

Monkey forest is home of more than 200 long-tailed Macaque (Macaca Fascicularis) monkeys and the complex has three holy temples within its boundaries.

The Botanic Garden in Ubud features a range of micro-climates with ravines, groves, meadows, a river, waterfalls and a natural forest setting. Paths and stairways lead you through the garden and is guarded by carved stone Buddhas.

Gunung Kawi is a 10th century Hindu temple complex with a 300-step stone stairway leading to a beautiful valley where you will find 10 memorials carved into the rock face.

Lombok's most popular tourist destination, Gili islands, is a cluster of three islands. Catch a shuttle boat from the mainland and enjoy surfing, diving, snorkeling or topical island lounging without the noise of cars or motorbikes as the only transport you will find is horse-drawn carts.

General Info

The currency of Indonesia is Rupiah, also called IDR. You will find money changer facilities at most tourism resorts but credit cards are only accepted in big hotels, restaurants, shops or traveling agencies.

Weather

Indonesia has two seasons, a wet one and a dry one without any extremes of winter and summer. October to April is known as the wet season, while May to September is the drier season. Average temperatures are between 23°C and 28°C.
