Indian Standard Time is ten and a half hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Standard Time and the currency used is the Indian Rupee. Making us of public transport (busses) can be very crowded; the best way to get around in India is by Taxi and auto-rickshaws. Be sure to negotiate the cost of your trip before you set off in the taxi or auto-rickshaw. Wearing non-revealing clothing is best, and you will gain the respect of all the locals you meet and you can enter places of worship. Sun and ear protection is very important. The sun is very harsh and you need to wear a good sun had and sunscreen all year round. Street noise in India is very annoying, day and night, so to get a good night’s rest, pack some earplugs.

Weather

The best time to visit India is from October to March, this is when the nights are cool and the days pleasant with temperatures ranging between 20°C and 30°C. The monsoons months (July until September) is not ideal and must be avoided when travelling to India.
