Hungary is in the Central European Time (CET), which is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. A tourist can get around Hungary via train, bus, boat, taxi and car. Please note that Hungary has a zero tolerance on drink and driving. No blood alcohol of any level is acceptable and it is best to get around by taxi if you're planning on tasting the countries' beverages.

The country has a continental climate. Summers are generally hot with low humidity while the winter is mildly cold with snowfall. During summertime the country experiences temperatures between 23˚C to 28˚C and winter temperatures of -3˚C to -7˚C. Average rainfall of approximately 600mm is also common.

Budapest, the capital and largest city of Hungary, is divided into 23 districts. It is home to nearly 2 000 000 inhabitants and has the total territory of about 525 square kilometers. Budapest can almost be divided into two cities, Buda on the Western hilly side and Pest on the Eastern side, the modern commercial core of the city.
