Frankfurt is the largest city in German city of Hesse and the fifth largest in the entire Germany. The city has an estimated population of 670,000 as of the year 2008. This city is the location of prestigious banks which include the European Central bank and the German Federal Bank. The Frankfurt Trade Fair and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is also located in this city making it the financial and transportation center in Germany and the largest financial center in the entire European Continent.

General Information
The city of Frankfurt is rich in cultural festivities showcasing the city’s colorful culture and somehow it’s historic past. One of Frankfurt’s musical festivals is the “Sound of Frankfurt”. It is held in the city’s center and was regularly held each year from 1994 to 2004. A number of artists and bands perform in open air venues. These concerts are for free. The performers perform in eight stages scattered all across Zeil. This festival attracts an estimated 500,000 visitors each year. The performances include playing of music of different genres such as rock, Latino, house, alternative and pop. Another brilliant festival in Frankfurt which attracts visitors is the “Museums riverbank Festival”. This festival is held usually in the month of August every year and attracts an approximately three million spectators. The festival lasts for three days with activities such as the opening of museums up to the late hours of the night, the performance of live bands, dance shows and the setting up of several booths for different crafts, jewelery, foods and clothes from all around the world. The “Skyscrapers Festival” is a festival unique in Germany. This celebration lasts for two days wherein the skyscrapers in Frankfurt are open for the public to explore. Skydivers, base jumpers, laser shows and fireworks are added attractions. An estimated crowd of 1.2 million visitors attends and takes part in this unique festivity.

The weather in Frankfurt has warm summer and cold winter, basically a temperate continental climate. The weather is of mild nature with no real extremes in temperature and severeness of climate.
