General Information
Crime
Copenhagen is a very save city but normal precautions should be taken when visiting busy tourist attractions as pickpocketing and petty theft can occur.
Weather
Due to the Atlantic Gulf Stream that moves warm water around the Gulf Coast area towards Europe, the climate in Copenhagen is unstable and changing weather patterns occur in all four seasons. Winters are dependent on which latitude the Atlantic low-pressure centre takes. A stable low pressure around the Alps provides Copenhagen with above-freezing temperatures. A high-pressure system over Denmark provides the city with freezing temperature. Summer can are generally mild, windy and rainy while the high-pressure system provides sunny and warm weather that lasts at the most ten days.
