General Info

The country boasts with their unpolluted sea nature. Many Croatians speak English with German and Italian, which is also very popular. The country's disabled facilities are not that well developed. It is also advisable to stay away from strip clubs as most is run by shady characters and will often overcharge tourists while their bouncers don't have much mercy should you be unable to pay.

The country's main currency is the kuna (HRK) while many business owners may accept euros. Prices in Croatia is around 10% to 20% lower than in most EU countries with tourist destinations much more expensive. The country is located on the UTC +1 timezone which is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and thus 1 hours behind South African time.

Weather

The weather in Croatia is divided into two parts. The north and the coast. The northern parts of Croatia has a temperate continental climate while the Adriatic coast has pleasant Mediterranean climate. Spring and Autumn is mild with cold winters and snow falling in the central and northern regions. The average inland temperature during January ranges from -10˚C to 5˚C and 19˚C to 39˚C in August. Temperature at the coast is much higher with 6˚C to 11˚C during January and 21˚C to 39˚C during August.
