Munich “Franz Josef Strauss” Airport is located 28km northeast of Munich. It is named in memory of the politician Franz Josef Strauss. Munich Airport is the second busiest airport in Germany and the 27th busiest airport in the world.

Summer and spring is the best time to visit Munich when you can enjoy warm weather and beautiful sunsets.

Munich has and excellent public transport system consisting of trams, buses, an underground system and S-Bahn trains. Hiring a car to get around the city is a waste of money, finding available parking is a nightmare. It is only recommended to hire a car if you want to explore the surrounding lakes and mountains.
