When to go

The main tourist period of Scotland is between April and September, but any time is a good time to visit this country. In August Edinburgh becomes impossibly crowded during the festival period. Some tourist attractions are closed from November to March and winter public transport is less frequent during the winter because of high winds that disrupt the ferries.

Major attractions in Scotland

Scotland offers its visitors a turbulent history, fascinating genealogy, castles and country pubs, caber-tossing, canoeing, golfing, fishing and all-round good conversation.
