History

Fleet
As of 30 October 2010, the Turkish Airlines fleet consists of 143 passenger aircraft with an average age of 6.0 years, as well as 6 cargo aircraft.
Baggage
- First Class – 60 kg
- Business Class – 30 kg
- Economy Class – 20 kg
- Infant (Age between 0-2) – 10kg+1 fully collapsible baby stroller (for each piece maximum dimension is 115cm)
Weight allowed on board
- Business Class – 2 pieces – 8 kg (each piece) – Dimensions: 23x40x55 cm.
- Economy Class – 1 piece – 8 kg – Dimensions: 23x40x55 cm.
In addition to standard carry-on baggage allowance, every passenger may carry the following items free of charge in the cabin.
- 1 overcoat or blanket
- 1 lady’s small hand-bag
- 1 small camera
- 1 baby stroller
- Baby bottle for feeding the baby in cabin etc.
If you would like to have baggage other than a handbag with you in the cabin, you should purchase an extra seat for it.
In-flight baggage restrictions
For safety reasons you may not carry these items in your checked or carry-on baggage
- Briefcases and security type attache cases with installed alarm devices; or incorporative lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic material;
- Explosives, amunitions, fireworks and flares;
- Gases (flammable, non-flammable, deeply refrigerated and poisonous) such as camping gas and aerosols;
- Flammable liquids such as lighter fuels, paints and thinner;
- Flammable solids, such as matches and articles which are easily ignited; substances liable to spontaneous combustion;substances which on contact with water emit flammable gases;
- Oxidizing substances (such as bleaching powder and peroxides);
- Poissonous (toxic) and infectious substances;
- Radioactive materials;
- Corrosives (such as mercury which may be contained in thermometers, acids, alkalis and wet-cell batteries);
- Disabling devices such as mace, pepper spray, etc. containing an irritant or incapacitating substance
- Magnetized materials.
- Personel medical oxygen devices
