History
Lufthansa, founded on 6 January 1926 in Berlin, is the flag carrier of Germany and the largest airline in Europe in terms of overall passengers carried. In 2008, 70.5 million passengers flew with Lufthansa.

Baggage
- First Class: 40 kg – plus 1 ski bag and plus 1 golf bag
- Business Class: 30 kg – plus 1 ski bag
- Economy Class: 20 kg – plus 1 ski bag
Weight allowed on-board
Each piece of hand baggage may not be larger than 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm and may not weigh more than 8 kg. An exception are foldable garment bags. They count as hand baggage up to a size of 57 cm x 54 cm x 15 cm. Please check for country-specific differences.
- First and Business Class – two pieces of hand baggage
- Economy Class - only permitted one piece of hand baggage.
