History
Ethopian Airlines, founded in December 1945, is an airline headquartered on the grounds of Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Destinations:
The airline serves over 50 destinations worldwide and over 35 destinations within Ethiopia. Ethiopian Airlines is set to become the 30th Star Alliance member in 2011.

Baggage
The price of a ticket includes the transportation of a certain amount of baggage in the cargo hold of the aircraft. This allowance differs depending on the booking class and the destination. Read more on Ethiopian Airlines page on Baggage Allowance.
Weight allowed on-board
- One piece of carry-on baggage is acceptable free of charge provided it is suitable for placement in the over-head rack or under the passengers seat. The sum of the three dimensions (L+W+H) shall not exceed 115 cm and weight must not exceed 7kg.
In addition, passengers may also carry free of charge, items of personal effects for use in flight, as listed below:
- A handbag (Laptop bag), pocket book or purse.
- A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars.
- A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight.
- Infant’s food for consumption in flight.
- Infant’s carrying basket.
- A fully collapsible cabin wheel chair and/or a pair of crutches, and /or braces or other prosthetic device provided that passengers are dependent on them.
- One laptop with out accessories and attachments
